The app

Everything for
your journey.

takt is with you from first launch to getting off — personally set up, in real time, with no account required.

Try the onboarding in your browser

On first launch

It gets personal.

01

Choose your language

Six languages are translated: Deutsch, English, Čeština, Polski, Türkçe and Українська. Arabic is announced. The active one comes straight from your system.

02

Sign in — or don't

Optionally sign in with an e-mail code so favourites sync across devices. Or head straight into the app, no setup at all.

03

Get going — no account

Done. Favourite stops and followed lines build up as you use the app and stay locally on your device.

What takt does every day

Features that pull their weight.

Real-time departures

Delay, platform and crowding for every stop, with auto-refresh. Favourites without an account, stored locally.

Journey search

Addresses, places and your position via GPS. Filters, earlier/later, walking legs and the price including fare zone.

Live journey

The map shows the vehicle along the route — with transfer and get-off alerts that vibrate in good time. At a transfer, your connecting service rolls in on the map too.

Tickets

takt tells you which ticket your journey needs and takes you to the official VVO/DVB shop to buy it. Buying inside takt is planned.

Disruptions & push alerts

Real-time disruption banners and a push alert for the lines you follow — device-based, no account.

Circle: family & friends (soon)

An “I'm here” status, kids' accounts and a family SOS that sends your location to your circle. Currently in internal testing — coming soon.

Simple & Large

One switch turns takt into a calm app with large type, less on screen at once and the next step first — with every transfer shown in full.

Stopovers

Run an errand on the way: drop in a stop with a dwell time, and takt chains the legs together and waits before moving on.

Light, dark, automatic

Plus font size, walking pace and a more distinguishable colour palette. Automatic follows sunrise and sunset in Dresden.

Missed your tram?

If your service has dropped off the board while you are still on the platform, takt asks — and looks for alternatives from where you stand.

Device sync & account

An optional account via e-mail code — favourites across all your devices, exportable and deletable at any time.

Offline & installable

Add it to your home screen; the interface runs offline, real-time data streams in live. We serve our own fonts, and there are no advertising or analytics services.

A note on honesty: the app interface is fully available in German, English, Czech, Polish, Turkish and Ukrainian — stop names and disruption texts still come from the VVO in German, as do the legal texts; Arabic is on the way. The palette for colour vision deficiency is a more distinguishable palette and not a medical test. A professional emergency call to a dispatch centre is in development; the circle with “I'm here” and the family SOS is in internal testing right now and coming soon. What is verifiably accessible today is listed on the accessibility page.
